🚩 1. Start here
DutDut is four things in one place: marching arts scores, a community that cheers with Hype, a career game called DutDut Quest, and a fantasy league.
Your account
You can look at scores and listen to licks without an account. Everything else needs one.
- Tap Sign In at the top right to make an account or sign in.
- An account is free. It saves your Hype, friends, game progress and items.
- If a friend sent you an invite link, open it and you go straight to the sign-up form.
Home Home
One page that shows what is waiting for you today.
- Your check-in streak.
- Upcoming events and what the community has been doing.
- This Day in Drum Corps: a moment from history, with scores and a link to the full results.
- Your Quest card: your level, your current mission and today's Rep Checklist.
If you are signed out, Home shows a welcome page and the most hyped shows and corps.
Check-in streaks
Open DutDut every day and you get paid for it.
- Every day you open DutDut pays a few Dut Coins.
- Every 7th day in a row pays a bonus.
- Every 30th day in a row pays a big bonus.
- Miss a day and the streak starts over.
Rep Checklist (daily quests) Home
A short list of small goals that changes every day.
- Goals are things like practice, play trivia, hype something or spin the wheel.
- Tap a goal's name to jump to the page where you can do it.
- Each finished goal pays Dut Coins and XP. Tap to claim it.
- Finish the whole list for an extra daily bonus.
Settings and your profile Settings
This is where you choose what other members see about you.
- Profile photo: upload a picture. This round photo is your avatar.
- Profile info: your display name, location, role (fan, marching member, alum or staff), your corps and social links.
- Scores & updates: pick which circuits you follow (DCI, BOA, WGI). Circuits you turn off are hidden from the menu. Nothing gets locked.
- Invite a friend: copy your invite link and share it.
- My Favorites and My Hype buttons are at the top.
- Delete My Account is at the bottom. It removes everything and cannot be undone.
Remember to tap Save Profile after you change something.
Notifications Your photo → Notifications
A list of things that happened to you, newest first.
- Friend requests, pokes, achievements, battle results, items people sent you, and more.
- A dot on your photo means something new is waiting.
- Friend requests stay until you answer them.
Premium
An optional membership that gives you more Hype and helps keep DutDut running.
- More Hype every day and a higher Hype maximum.
- Hype refills twice as fast.
- A gold Premium badge on your profile.
Your Premium status and days left show on My Quest and in Settings.
Reporting a problem Menu → Help
Found a bug or something that does not belong? Tell us.
- Tap Help at the bottom of the menu, pick a category, and describe what happened.
- You can report a member from their profile, and report a lick with the ⚠ button on it.
- What's New at the bottom of the menu lists every recent change in plain words.
🔥 2. Hype
Hype is how you cheer. Think of it as a small stack of cheers you hand out.
What Hype is
You hold a small pool of Hype. Spend one to cheer for something. It fills back up by itself.
- Tap the 🔥 button on a corps, a show, a band, a WGI group, a lick or a member's profile to spend one Hype on it.
- Your pool refills over time, all the way back to full in about a day.
- Every Hype you give also earns you a little XP.
- Hype can also buy extra rounds of trivia and Tap the Rhythm, and extra licks, when your free ones run out.
Tip: a full pool stops refilling, so spend your Hype before it tops out.
Hype, Most Hyped Shows, Most Hyped Corps Hype
Leaderboards of what the community is cheering for the most.
- The Hype page shows both lists side by side, ten at a time.
- Most Hyped Shows and Most Hyped Corps show the full rankings.
- A badge on a corps means a boost is running on it right now.
My Favorites Settings → My Favorites
Your own list of favorite shows and corps.
Tap the ⭐ on a show or corps to add it. Your favorites show on your profile, and you can find them quickly from this page.
My Hype Settings → My Hype
How much Hype you have, when the next one arrives, and where yours has gone.
Boost Board Play → Casino group
Special items that change what a Hype is worth, for everybody, for a short time.
- Buy a boost item in the Shop, then use it from a corps page, a member's profile or the Boost Board.
- Megaphone, Stadium PA, Broadcast Feed: every Hype that corps gets counts double or triple for a while.
- Spotlight does the same for one show. Hometown Hero does it for a member's profile.
- Rotten Tomato: ends someone else's boost early. They are told who threw it. A boost is safe for its first hour.
- Umbrella: protects your boost from the next Tomato.
- Bad Run: the opposite of a boost. For a while, every other Hype that corps gets is lost. A Tomato ends it.
- Rivalry Week: pick two corps. Both count double for two days and the board keeps score. Everyone who hyped the winner gets a badge and bonus XP.
- Section Rally, Double Down, Hype Overflow: boosts for your section's Hype, your own next Hypes, or your daily Hype limit.
- Top Booster puts your name on a corps page for a week.
The Boost Board lists every boost that is running right now.
📊 3. Scores & data
Decades of results you can search, sort and compare. New DCI scores arrive by themselves every night.
All Scores Scores
One big table of every scored DCI result.
- Use the filters at the top to pick a season, a class or a corps.
- Tap a column heading to sort by it.
- Quick links at the top jump to Analytics, Captions, Awards and Judge Tendencies.
Events Scores
Results grouped by show instead of one long table.
- Pick a season, then open a show to see every corps that competed.
- Tap a corps in the table to open its full score breakdown.
- A Penalties column appears when a corps was penalized.
Analytics
Line graphs of how the top 15 corps scored across a season.
- The big graph is total score, show by show. Smaller graphs cover each caption.
- Each corps keeps the same color on every graph.
- Use the corps filter to show only the corps you care about.
- Each caption graph can be split into its parts, like Content and Achievement.
Captions Scores
A caption is one judged part of a score, like Brass, Percussion, Color Guard, Visual or General Effect.
This page shows caption scores and the judge-by-judge breakdown, so you can see exactly where a corps gained or lost points.
Caption Awards Scores
Who won each caption award at the World Championships, season by season.
The current season appears once its championships are over.
Judge Tendencies Scores
Patterns in how individual judges have scored each World Class corps, 2013 to 2025.
It shows whether a judge has tended to score a corps higher or lower than the other judges did. It is history, not a prediction.
Financials Scores
What each corps' nonprofit reported to the IRS.
- Revenue, expenses, surplus and net assets, side by side for every corps.
- Pick a year, or leave it on each corps' most recent filing.
- Each corps page has its own Financials tab with every year on file.
All Corps and corps pages Hype → All Corps
A list of every active and historic corps. Tap one to open its page.
A corps page has:
- A 🔥 Hype button and a ⭐ favorite button.
- Recent shows and repertoire, five seasons at a time.
- A graph of its captions, show by show, for a season you pick.
- A Financials tab.
- Superfans: the three members who have hyped that corps the most.
Shows Hype → Shows
Show titles and the music each corps played, year by year.
Search by corps, year or title. You can hype and favorite any show.
Bands of America Scores → Bands of America
Fifty seasons of marching band scores, 1976 to 2025.
- All Bands lists every band, 50 per page, with a logo or a crest. Search, filter and sort it.
- A school's old spellings are merged, so its whole history is in one place.
- Tap the 🔥 on a row to hype a band without opening its page. Tap the Hype heading to sort by Hype.
- Tap a band to see its page and full history.
- Scores by Show shows BOA results one show at a time.
WGI Scores → WGI
Winter Guard International percussion scores, from 1993 to now.
- All Groups lists every group in the archive. It works just like All Bands, Hype button included.
- Scores by Show shows results one show at a time. Full caption breakdowns start in 2013.
- Tap a group to see its own page.
Upcoming Events Community
The shows that are coming up: where, when, who is performing and how to get tickets.
- Covers DCI and Bands of America. A tag on each card says which.
- Filter by circuit, or by a corps or band to see only its shows.
- Performer names open that corps' or band's page.
- Tap I'm attending to say you are going. Tap the count to see who else is.
Other fans, and the games you play with them.
Friends Community
Your friends list, your friend requests, and a search box to find new people.
- Search for a member and tap Add to send a friend request.
- Requests you have received wait at the top until you accept or decline.
- Tap anyone's name or photo, anywhere in DutDut, to open their profile.
Member profiles
A member's public page.
It shows their photo, level, title, stats, equipped gear, Display Case, favorites and achievements. From a profile you can:
- Hype them.
- Poke them, a friendly nudge that sends them a notification.
- Tip them some Dut Coins. A small cut of every tip is taken out of the game.
- Challenge them to a Solo Battle.
- Report them if something is wrong.
Solo Battles and Prestige
A one-on-one contest between you and another player.
- Open a member's profile and tap Challenge. You both need to be level 15 or higher.
- Higher Chops, Visual and Musicality help you win. Higher Endurance helps you avoid getting hurt.
- The winner gains Prestige. The loser loses their energy and has to rest for a while.
- You also gain Prestige for defending a challenge and for finishing your Rep Checklist.
- The Prestige Leaderboard on My Quest ranks the best battlers, all-time and this month.
Fantasy League Community
Like fantasy football, but you draft drum corps for their captions, and real DCI scores decide who wins.
- Create or join a league. Leagues are private. The owner shares a short join code. Up to 12 teams.
- Fill empty spots. The owner can add computer-run teams if you are short on people.
- Draft. Managers take turns picking. You fill 9 slots, one corps per slot. In your league, each corps-and-caption pair can belong to only one team.
- Set your lineup each week. You can swap in free agents until that week's lock time.
- Score. After the real shows, each slot scores that corps' average for that caption that week. No show that week means zero for that slot.
- Playoffs. The top 8 teams play a bracket that follows the real World Championships: Prelims, Semifinals, Finals.
| The 9 slots | What it scores |
| GE 1, GE 2 | The two General Effect captions |
| Visual Prof., Visual Analysis, Color Guard | The three visual captions |
| Music Brass, Music Analysis, Music Perc. | The three music captions |
| Bonus | A spare corps that can fill in for one caption you choose |
On draft night each corps shows a projection, a guess based on its last three seasons. Only active World Class corps can be drafted.
Off-season: Fantasy rests after the season ends and comes back in the spring. Your leagues, rosters and history are saved.
Trivia Community
Quiz games about the marching arts. Right answers pay Dut Coins and XP.
- Drum Corps Facts: questions about history, shows and scores.
- Audio Trivia: name the corps or show from a sound clip.
- Visual Trivia: name the corps or show from a photo.
- Rudiment Trivia: name the drum rudiment from its notation.
How it works:
- Each game gives you a few free rounds every day. When they run out, a little Hype buys another set.
- There is a theme of the day. Correct answers on the theme pay bonus coins.
- You see how hard a question was after you answer. It is based on how often other players got it right.
- The monthly leaderboard adds up your correct answers from every trivia game.
Tap the Rhythm Community
Read two bars of rhythm, then tap them back in time.
- Look at the rhythm on the screen.
- Listen to the count-in.
- Tap the big drum in time. On a computer, use the spacebar or the mouse.
- Get it right and the next one is harder. Your stage is saved.
- Later stages add syncopation, sixteenth notes, triplets and time signatures like 3/4, 5/4, 6/8 and 7/8.
- Right answers pay Dut Coins and XP. The higher your stage, the more they pay.
- You get a few free rounds a day. After that, a little Hype unlocks more.
- The gear button opens the metronome settings: which beats click, the click sound, and a tempo light.
- Run the quick calibration first if you use Bluetooth headphones, so the delay does not count against you.
Licks Community
Short pieces of music written by members. Listen, hype your favorites, or write your own.
- The page opens on all licks, most hyped first. There is a Newest tab too.
- Tap a lick to play it right on the page. Tap 🔥 to hype it.
- Switch the filter to My Licks to see your own, drafts included. From there you can edit or delete them.
- Share copies a link. It plays right inside Discord and Facebook.
- Tip a lick you love with Dut Coins.
- Writers can sell a lick. Buyers get their own private copy. A bought copy cannot be resold.
- Requests tab: describe the lick you want and name a price. Writers send in licks and you pick one. If nobody delivers, your coins come back.
- Tap ⚠ to report a lick that does not belong.
Lick Writer
A small music notation editor for writing your own lick.
- Pick an instrument: battery (snare, tenors, basses, cymbals), hornline, or front ensemble (marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel).
- Pick a time signature and a tempo.
- Pick a note length, then tap the staff to place the note. Where you tap sets the drum or the pitch.
- Press Play to hear it. Save when you are happy.
- Extras for drums: stickings, accents, flams, cheeses, diddles, rim clicks and rimshots.
- Triplets, sextuplets and fivelets are one button each.
- Use the Select tool to tap a note and change it. There are Undo and Erase buttons too.
- Your first new lick each day is free. More new licks that day cost a little Hype. Editing a saved lick is always free.

| 🥁 Chops | Playing power on your instrument. |
| 🎯 Visual | Marching and movement. |
| 🎵 Musicality | Tone, tuning and musical skill. |
| 🏃 Endurance | How much your body can take. |
Further down the page: your marching member, your equipped gear, your crafting level, Prestige and its leaderboard, your Display Case, achievements and collections.
The loop: train your stats → succeed at activities → earn XP and coins → buy gear and clinics → take on harder, better-paying work.
Getting hurt and recovering
Failing an activity can injure you. While you recover, you cannot do activities and your energy does not come back.
- A 🚑 in the top bar means you are recovering. My Quest shows a countdown.
- Harder activities mean longer recovery.
- First aid items from the Shop take time off. You can use two on any one injury. Bigger kits are better value.
- A Cortisone Shot clears the recovery completely and protects you from the next injury.
Play DutDut Quest
One page of tiles. Every part of the game is one tap away.
- A gold dot on a tile means something is ready: full energy, gig pay to collect, a free wheel spin, or a raffle drawing today.
- A locked tile shows the level you need.
- On any game page, tap ‹ PLAY under the title to come back here.
Career Ladder DutDut Quest
A map of all 60 levels and what each one unlocks.
- Levels you have passed are lit up.
- Your career tier goes Rookie, Vet, Section Leader, Soloist, Drum Major, Age-Out.
- Your maximum energy grows as your level goes up.

- When you level up, a screen lists everything that level opened.
Your section Career Ladder
At level 10 you audition for Brass, Battery, Front Ensemble or Color Guard.
- Your section trains its main stat faster and its weakest stat a bit slower.
- Gear that matches your section gives a bigger bonus.
- You get section-only activities and gigs, a section goal on your Rep Checklist, and section titles.
- Your first switch is free. After that, changing sections costs Dut Coins.
- The section leaderboard shows how many players are in each section and who leads yours.
Titles and stat milestones Career Ladder
Reach certain stat numbers and you earn a reward and a title.
- Milestones run from 25 all the way up to 1000 in each stat. Each pays Dut Coins or XP.
- Pick the title you want to show under your name. It appears on your profile.
- Getting every stat to 100, 250 or 500 earns a special award.

One-time goals, done in order, that teach you the game and pay well.
- Missions come in chains. Finish one step to open the next.
- Each step pays Dut Coins and XP. Tap Claim when a step is done.
- Finishing a whole chain gives you a perk point and a title.
- Things you did before missions existed still count.
- Your current mission also shows on your Home page.
Perks DutDut Quest
A skill tree. Spend points on permanent bonuses that you choose.
- Perks open at level 10.
- You earn a point every 5 levels, plus more from stat milestones and mission chains.

- The Items tab dresses your marching member in gear you own.
- Tap the camera button to save a picture of it.
- This is different from your avatar, which is the round profile photo you upload in Settings.
🥁 6. Things to do in Quest
Ways to spend your energy and time. Open any of them from the Play page.
Activities
Spend energy on a job. If it goes well you earn XP and Dut Coins.
- Each activity tests one of your stats. A higher stat gives you a better chance, but nothing is ever a sure thing.
- Success: you get the XP and coins, and sometimes an item drops.
- Failure: you still keep part of the XP, but you may get hurt and need to recover.
- Harder activities pay more and carry more risk.
- Some activities belong to your section only. Some can only be done at a certain tour stop.
- Tap the small i on a card to read its description.
Practice Room
Spend energy to raise one stat directly.
- Pick a stat and practice. The stat goes up.
- The higher a stat already is, the smaller each gain. Getting better gets harder.
- Your section trains its main stat faster.
Practice Space (renting) Practice Room
Rent a better place to practice. You get more maximum energy and it comes back faster.
- The Garage is always free. Bigger spaces cost weekly rent.
- If you cannot pay the rent, you drop down one tier and get a week's grace there.
- Above the Rehearsal Hall you stop renting and start buying. That happens on the Real Estate page.
Real Estate
Buy a home. It is yours for good, and it raises your energy and how fast it comes back.
- Opens at level 15. Homes run from a Studio Apartment up to a Mansion.
- Trading up: part of what you paid for your current home comes off the price of a bigger one.
- Amenities: fill your home's slots with rooms like a practice room, home gym or recording booth. Each gives a bonus and can be upgraded. Bigger homes hold more.
- Weekly upkeep: homes cost coins every week. Miss a payment and the home goes dormant. Its bonuses switch off until you pay, but you never lose the home and you are not billed for missed weeks.
Gigs
A side job that earns Dut Coins while you are away.
- Pick one gig. It earns coins in real time, even when DutDut is closed.
- Come back and tap Claim to collect your pay.
- Pay stops piling up after about a day, so claim at least once a day.
- Better gigs unlock as you level up. Some belong to one section.
Clinics
Pay Dut Coins for a timed class. When it ends, you get a permanent stat bonus.
- Enroll, wait for the timer, then tap Claim.
- You can take one clinic at a time. The time left shows at the top of the page.
- Longer, pricier clinics give bigger bonuses. Some are only offered at certain tour stops.
- Crafting clinics teach you recipes instead of raising a stat.
- In a hurry? Finish now ends the wait for a coin price based on the time left.
Sectionals Clinics
Hour-long classes run by other players.
- To attend: pay the seat fee and take a seat. When the hour ends you gain a permanent stat bonus. A stronger host means a bigger bonus. You can rate the host afterwards.
- To host: you need to be level 25 with a strong stat. You set the seat fee and keep most of it.
Tour
Travel to real tour cities. Each city has things you cannot get anywhere else.
- You start at home. New cities unlock as you level up, all the way to Finals in Indianapolis.
- Pick a city on the map or the list and depart. Travel takes real time, based on the real distance.
- The bus needs fuel. Each trip costs some Dut Coins, shown before you go.
- Breakdowns: sometimes the bus breaks down and you arrive later. Pay for a tow to get the lost time back, or wait it out for free.
- Skip the ride ends the trip right now for a coin price.
- You can travel from city to city. Head home takes you back.
- Every city card shows its theme and its special activity, even while the city is still locked.
The Lot Tour
A small market at each tour city that sells rarer items. The stock changes every day.
- You only see what is for sale once you are standing in that city.
- Each city sells items that fit its theme.
- Stock is limited and shared by everyone, and you can buy each offer once. First come, first served.
🎒 7. Items
Gear to wear, things to use, and things to collect.
How items work
Every item has a type and a rarity.
| Type | What it does |
| Equipment | Wear it for a stat bonus. Seven slots: head, eyewear, chest, legs, feet, instrument and accessory. |
| Consumables | Use once. Energy refills, Hype refills, first aid, boosts, a Shipping Box. |
| Collectibles | Keep, show off, or complete a Collection. |
| Materials | Raw parts used for crafting. |
| Avatar frames | A decorative ring around your profile photo. |
Rarity, from most common to rarest: Common (grey), Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Mythical (purple), Legendary (gold). The color shows as a badge or a glow.
Items come from the Shop, activity drops, the Prize Wheel, crafting, The Lot on tour, and other players.
Inventory
Everything you own, grouped by type.
- Equip gear to wear it. Use a consumable to get its effect.
- Recycle breaks an item into crafting materials. It shows what you will get before you confirm. You can recycle a whole stack at once.
- Send mails an item to another player. Each send uses up one Shipping Box from the Shop.
- Tap the eye icon to read an item's description and see how many exist in the whole game.
Shop
Buy items with Dut Coins.
- The Shop sells common and uncommon items. Rarer items come from drops, crafting, the wheel, The Lot and other players.
- Featured this week: a row of limited-time items, sometimes with limited stock. When the week ends, the Market is the only place to find them.
- Permanent upgrades: the Workbench unlocks crafting, and the Display Case lets you show collectibles on your profile.
Market
Buy from and sell to other players.
- Browse: search, filter by rarity and sort. Each listing shows the recent going price.
- Sell: your items are in one table. Type how many and your price, then list it.
- There is a small fee when you list and a small fee when it sells.
- A listing lasts one week. If nobody buys it, the item comes back to you.
- My Listings shows what you have up for sale and when it expires.
Buy orders Market
Tell the Market what you want and the most you will pay. It buys for you when someone lists a match.
- Pick the item, how many, and your top price for each.
- Your coins are held while the order is open.
- Unspent coins come back when the order fills, when you cancel it, or when it expires after a week.
Crafting
Recycle items you do not need into materials, then use the materials to make new items.
- Unlock it. Buy the Workbench in the Shop. You need to be level 5. It also teaches you every common recipe.
- Get materials. Recycle items from your Inventory. Materials come in four kinds and match the rarity of what you recycled.
- Craft. Pick a recipe. The card shows what it needs, what you have, and a small workshop fee.
- Wait. Crafts take time. Rarer items take longer. The item lands in your Inventory by itself, even if you leave.
- Your crafting level goes up every time you craft. Higher levels open harder recipes, more crafts at once, and a better chance of a free bonus copy.
- Learn more recipes from crafting clinics.
- Finish now ends a craft early for coins.
Display Case My Quest
Show off up to 8 collectibles on your profile.
Buy the Display Case once in the Shop. Then tap EDIT on My Quest to choose what goes in it.
